More Trains More Often in Maryborough

The Andrews Labor Government is giving Maryborough residents and visitors more options to connect to Ballarat and Melbourne with an additional four weekend train services funded in the Victorian Budget 2022/23.

The services will integrate with the daily coach services (via both Ballarat and Castlemaine) that also connect the town to Melbourne.

The additional weekend services will also stop at Creswick, Clunes and Talbot and will be scheduled at different times to the weekday services to take into account the different preferences of weekend users.

As well as connecting passengers to Melbourne, the trains will provide better access to weekend shopping, restaurants, and entertainment in Ballarat without having to make the journey all the way to the city.

The upgrades are part of a $23 million investment through the Budget to deliver more trains, more often across the state, including more services for Waurn Ponds and longer trains for three Wyndham Vale services.

The additional services are on top of the 170 extra services added in 2021 to regional Victoria, including 125 more trains every week on the Ballarat line.
